Your travel choices
Understand the travel criteria
Your answers describe what makes a trip possible and what would make it enjoyable. Here is what each criterion means.
What makes the trip work
- Dates and trip length
- For fixed dates, the stay follows the dates chosen by the organizer. For flexible dates, it must fit the group’s shared availability and the requested number of nights.
- Budget
- Your private budget helps compare each trip with what you can spend. Costs are shown for each traveler, because departure cities and prices can differ. At launch, the displayed amount covers transport only: accommodation is excluded and must be budgeted separately. Accommodation counts only when it is explicitly included in the calculation.
- Transport and journey comfort
- Choose the transport modes you would use, how long you can travel and whether overnight journeys are acceptable. These answers help compare the effort needed to reach each destination.
- Accommodation needs
- Accommodation types, bedroom privacy and the need for an entire place describe where you could stay. Comfort is a separate preference. These criteria apply only when accommodation is included in the calculation. At launch, accommodation is disabled: these criteria do not contribute to the ranking.
- Preferred regions
- Optional regional choices give a small advantage to places you would especially like to visit. Leaving them empty keeps the search open; choosing a region does not rule out the others.
What matters to you
Choose up to five priorities, in order of importance. Everyone’s choices help compare destinations; no single preference makes a city the right choice for the whole group.
- Nightlife
- A lively evening atmosphere, with places to go out, enjoy music or have a drink.
- Beach
- Access to the coast and beach activities. This describes the destination; it does not guarantee swimming weather on your dates.
- Food
- Places to enjoy local food, restaurants and culinary discoveries.
- Culture
- Museums, heritage, landmarks and opportunities to discover local culture.
- Warm, dry weather
- A preference for warm and dry conditions during your stay. The climate mention relates to your travel period and describes usual conditions, rather than promising the weather on a particular day.
- Ski and snow
- Skiing, snowboarding and related places such as ski areas, lifts, schools and chalets nearby. The score uses mapped places within 50 km; it does not measure snow conditions, slope quality, travel time or opening dates.
- Relaxation
- A setting suited to slowing down, unwinding and taking a calmer break.
- Outdoor activities
- Opportunities for walks, hikes and other outdoor activities. Conditions and access can vary with the season.
- Accommodation comfort
- How much the comfort of your accommodation matters, beyond the accommodation types and privacy you need.
Finding a compromise together
Waysemble first checks whether an option works with the group’s constraints, then compares its fit with everyone’s priorities. The ranking balances the overall experience with the least satisfied traveler. Information varies by destination: missing nightlife and beach data are excluded and applicable weights are redistributed; other unrated static traits count as neutral, while missing ski data counts as an unmet priority when skiing is selected. Results help you decide together; check current prices, conditions and opening times before booking.
